Guardians of the Galaxy

Synopsis

A space explorer named Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himselve hunted by a dangerous band of criminals after finding a perculiar and ancient looking orb on a deserted planet. After a close call with these criminals, Quill keeps the orb in order to find out more about it. But, after he tries to sell it he encounters several other people atempting to collect a bounty placed on his head or trying to steal the orb. These people consist of a couple of bounty hunters including a talking racoon, named rocket (Bradley Cooper), and his friend Groot (Vin Diesel), a walking tree that can only say his name in different tones to conve some sort of meaning. Also an alien girl, Gamora (Zoe Saldana), who is trying to steal the orb in order to take it to her buyer who will protect it and its contents. After they are captured and are brought to a dangerous prison on the planet, "Nowhere", where they loose all of there gear and the orb in containment. They all work together with an assasin named Drax (Dave Bautista) in order to escape. Little do they know they are being hunted by an extremely powerful alien named Ronin who is bent on destroying the republic, a group of planets working together to keep peace in the universe. Ronin believes he can do this with the orb, which contains an ancient power used to create the universe, an infinity stone. There are several infinity stones, the one contained within the orb is known as the power stone, which can be used to destroy planets. After our "criminals" reach their buyer, using Quill's ship, they discover this infinity stone and decide that it is best if it was kept with the republic. Though not all of the group agrees to running to the republic that arrest them at first sight, they are convinced to gain they're help after Ronin gets the orb. The group also gains help from a group of mercanaries that first brought Quill to space and decided to trade their help for the infinity stone. After a long battle and a lot of sacracfices, the team is able to defeat Ronin and trick the pirates by giving them an empty orb. The crew decides to stay together on Quills ship and explore the galaxy further. Released August of 2014, and directed by James Gunn.

Review

This movie has a lot to offer, such as action, suspense, and some very funny humor. I would recommend this movie to anyone in the need of some laughs. Though this movie may not be family friendly to a family of small children, a family with children older than 12 or 13 years would enjoy this movie immensely.
